If Life hands you lemons...
When you're asking for apples and life hands you lemons, make lemonade. If you're on your way out and it starts to rain, at least you won't have to water the plants anymore. It is a matter of seeing things in perspective. The benefits may not be immediate nor obvious, but you have to know this for sure: Allah will never give you anything you can't handle. Nothing you can't triumph over. There will be problems. There will be struggles. But if they're not there, how would you know how strong you are?

The Guest House
ReplyDeleteThis being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
